Rick Dale received his B.A. in linguistics from the University of Toronto in 2000, and his Ph.D. in cognitive psychology from Cornell University in 2006. He recently joined the cognitive faculty in the department of psychology as an assistant professor. Dr. Dale's research can be broadly characterized as psycholinguistics, while he also collaborates on projects relating to learning and categorization. In recent psycholinguistic research, Dr. Dale has studied how members of a conversation are coordinated -- how we share sentence structures, gesture, or even eye movements -- and how this coordination is involved in language acquisition.
