Dr. Floyd is interested in assessment of cognitive abilities, identification of reading and mathematics aptitudes, and improving behavioral assessment methods. His research has focused on the application of the Cattell-Horn-Carroll (CHC) theory of cognitive abilities to the practice of psychology. Recent research projects (with Robin Hojnoski) include the development and validation of the Preschool Numeracy Indicators, which are brief assessment probes targeting number skills designed for screening of preschoolers.
